Walking Towards The Future: The Things-I Want-To-Do-And-Fail-But-Keep-Trying-To

Introduction

I've had moments where the only thing I wanted to do was to give up completely. There are times in life when the things you dream of achieving seem so faraway. You know, life has a way of testing how much we truly want the things we have our eyes on to attain.  Let us call a spade a spade and be honest, there are times when it feels like no matter how hard we try, we keep tripping over the same stones. The disappointments that always come with it hurt us so much sometimes because we watch our plans fall apart again and again.

It happens to us all, and for me, I am no exception to life's bad days. But then, with every disappointment that comes away, I learn something new: To do better next time, to keep trying, to work harder. I learned that life is not only about winning it big immediately; it takes time to lay one stone on another to build a mansion one day. There may be rainy days, and there may be days full of storms. The most important thing you can continue as an individual is to keep trying to the fullest.

My journey throughout life till this stage is not a perfect one. It has been one with obstacles, failures, and standing up again. It is about still believing that the future can be brighter than today. In this post, I am sharing my personal experience on the things I can fight for that seem far away, the lessons I learned from the failures, and more. Who knows, my story may be the same as yours, and this is to help you not give up on yourself, also.

My Personal Experience on the Things I  Fight for that Seem Far Away

I have plans that light up my heart, yet every time I reach for them, they seem to move just a little further out of reach. Let me share with you.

💼 1. My Endless Search for a Good Job That Feels Right

In the country where I live, and maybe other places in the world I don't know of, to get a good job means to have someone in high places who can connect you. Otherwise, it takes grace. Finding a good job that pays well has not always been that easy for me. I remember my year after SHS when I sent my application letters to some schools to work as a teacher the calls never came. There were days I wanted to stop trying, but I just had to keep on and on until finally, after twelve months of failure when I secured a teaching job. But even that, the payment was weak.

The feelings that came with it, only I knew.

  • I was tired from trying so hard but was seeing no results.
  • I was fed up with the everyday crying and depression, but had to stay strong.
  • There was the fear that I would never find the kind of job I was looking for.
  • There was the frustration
  •  I was always doubting myself. Maybe it will never get better.

But all came to a halt when I got the job. Had to manage the meagre income until finally, when I had to go to school. It is not always that easy, but not giving up is a discipline you must acquire on your own.

🌐 2. Looking for Jobs Online, but Never Had Any That Met My Expectations.

To become successful in life, one has to do it even if it is the hard way. You wouldn't believe it if I told you that for two years, I had googled the internet looking for a reputable job online, but never got one. I have watched tons of videos, read hundreds of articles, clicked thousands of job posting links online, but all to no avail. That has been one of the stressful parts of my life, but who knows, maybe I am not searching the right corner of the internet. There were moments, I visited survey sites that promised to pay a dollar to three, but at the end of the day, I only got as little as 0.007 cents.

Their threshold is around $100. The question is, when is the 0.007 cents going to accumulate so you could help yourself with the bills? It has been difficult, but I keep searching and searching, and will continue until one day when I finally have what I want.

✍️ 3. Trying to Build My Online Presence Through Medium, Facebook, and Beyond

Writing has always been my passion. Especially with poems and short stories. For that, you can check my Medium Profile. I have this dream to share my passion, my talent, and my gift, my ideas about things with the world, but it always feels so far away. I am using many other online platforms, but the growth feels like it is going to take forever. Yes, I have been at it for a long time, but always had a few followers. There are moments you have to pay the platforms you are using to get the best out of their services, but where is the money?

My journey to make my voice heard online through my writing, sharing my life experiences, sharing my knowledge with people, and creating value for others has always seemed unattainable, but it is something I keep doing, no matter how long it takes me.

The capital may not be available today to invest and be known. I may lack the knowledge, tools, and resources to let the world know about me, but I believe as much it is just a matter of time without giving up, but to keep trying.

Know this: It comes with pains

  • It is painful when you make a post giving all your best and seeing no one react to it.
  • The pain of knowing I have something valuable to share, but having no audience to hear it.
  • The pain of needing to invest in ads or premium tools but knowing well there is no money to do so.
  • The pain of working hard to create content and still feeling invisible on the internet.

Since when? That is one question you keep asking yourself. I do ask myself, but to have hope is when you listen to others inspire you by sharing with you their success stories.

📚 4. Writing Books That Big Companies Might One Day Want to Publish or Buy

It is every writer's dream to write books that a company would want to publish or buy, but it is not that easy. There are times when I start writing a book with all the ideas, and then, along the way, I get stuck in the middle somewhere. Other times, I might finish a manuscript and won't even know where to publish it.

It is not easy to know if the book you are writing might interest a company to publish or even purchase, but that doesn't mean I should give up on writing. I still write, even when the ideas are not there. I just want to keep on doing it.

The truth is, writing a book takes time and involves money. To write a book that would interest a lot of people means you have to be very creative. Getting published will require patience and connections. Little by little, everything begins to fall in place.

❤️ 5. The Desire to Help the Needy, Even When It Feels Impossible

I remember the times in number when strangers walk to your window side when you are in a car and stretch forth their hands. There are many of them outside there, and I know you have met some of them. Why do they approach you? The reason is their hungry. For a person of my kind nature, I always want to give the little I have, but sometimes, it is hard to do because the only money you have on you is to pay for your transport fare.

Due to my own limitations and financial struggles, it is hard to offer the little help you would have. So all the time, I try to keep a coin on me. I keep trying to help, and someday, the help will stretch to all the orphanages and the homeless. Because to me, helping humanity is my passion.

🎓 6. Building an Online Educational Platform Where Everyone Learns Something

Starting an educational platform for everyone to learn something when they visit has always been in my dream. It takes time, but I am working slowly towards making that dream real. Schedules may not be in my favour, and that brings the delay, but the little time, sharing some knowledge I know will one day go a long way to help a lot of people.

💻 7. My Struggle to Learn Computer Coding and Not Giving Up Yet

I have tried my best to understand computer programming language, but to me, those codes have always seemed like a mystery. I may not understand everything today, but I keep pushing myself to higher limits. Who knows, one day, I will be the one to save a company's websites from being spammed. I believe it is possible, so I keep trying to understand it.

Lessons I Learned From All Those Failures

From my experiences, I learned that being patient does not mean you are weak. It is sometimes part of the preparation for what is waiting for you.

  • When you keep trying your best and you are being rejected, it does not mean you are not good enough. Maybe your time just hasn't come yet.
  • Even hard work without result builds character, as it did mine.
  • The opportunities that are delayed do not mean you have lost.
  • Making it online takes time. Even if the world is not seeing it now, someday, the world will see.
  • No matter how far dreams may seem, time will surely get you there.
  • Learning something difficult, like coding, reminds me that it takes time to make progress.

💭What About You: Let Us Talk About You

I have said a lot in this blog, but what about you?  Are you in the same situation where your dreams and the things you keep fighting for seem far away? Are there things that you've been trying to achieve, but they don't work out well?

  • Maybe, for your part of the story, you sent countless application letters looking for a suitable job and never got any employer calling you.
  • Maybe you’ve started something you love, but no one seems to notice your effort.
  • Maybe you’ve been saving for something important, but the money never seems to be enough.
  • Or maybe you just feel stuck because you have been working hard every day but are not seeing the results you want.

If any of the above points sound like you, dear, know that you are not alone. The people are fighting battles that no one sees. The truth is, becoming what you want to become will always take time.

Things You Want to Do and Did Not Fail: How Do You Handle It?

There are also moments when you succeed at the things you have been fighting for. How do you handle it?

Remember to stay humble when you succeed. Do not destroy what you worked for. Remember how hard it was to get there.

Take some quiet time and say thank you, God, for the breakthrough.

Inspire others with your success story; many people are going through the same thing.

Do not brag or boast and make others feel small because you have succeeded.

You have to keep learning and working harder to keep your success going strong.

You should also help someone else climb their own success ladder. Being selfish won't help in any way.

Appreciate the people who might have supported you in any way, even if not directly.

Conclusion.

It may be very hard for you right now, but keep walking. Keep learning. Keep believing that one day, your continuous effort will open doors for you.. Even if the thing you want to do still seems far away, remember that the fruit of all the labour will surely pay off one day. 🌻
