Detailed Guide to Fill KNUST Admission Form
Still, many individuals out there do not know how to fill out the online KNUST admission application form. Every year, a lot of students have the feeling and the energy to get admitted to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. But even so, before you get this admission, you must first apply, and that is where the problem still is for the greater population. To some others, too, they feel filling the application form is nothing until they make mistakes along the way. Due to this challenge, I am creating this post to walk you through everything you will need to know about filling out your KNUST admission form correctly without stress.
Get the Application Voucher
Before you even log onto the application page, you need to get an application voucher. This voucher is now electronic and can be bought on the KNUST admission portal, or you can visit verified outlets like banks to buy a voucher. Here is what you must do.
- First, visit the official KNUST Admission Portal
- After accessing the page, you will see a welcome to KNUST Admission Portal Message which says "Begin your academic journey through our sciences and arts programmes".
- Just beneath it is the option to "Purchase E-Voucher & Apply" or the "Login" option.
- Use the "Purchase E-Voucher & Apply" option if you do not have a voucher and need to purchase one, and use the "Login" option if you already have a voucher from verified outlets.
First, you are to sign up and create an account with a valid and active email address. The email needs to be active and valid because you will be sent a verification link. Also, use a valid telephone number. After entering the required details for registration, check the "I am not a robot" box to verify you are a human. A verification email will be sent to you. Log in to your Gmail and confirm your email, after which you will be redirected to the sign-in page. Enter your email and password and select Log In to continue.

Secondly, after logging in, select the applicant type from the two options provided. "Apply as a Ghanaian Student or an International Student". When you select Apply as a Ghanaian Student, expect to see the image below.

From the image above, click on continue in Purchase Voucher Online if you do not have a voucher, or select continue in Voucher Verification if you have already purchased a voucher from an approved outlet. Know that you will need to select the programme type after any of the selections are made.

Note: The Gmail and telephone number you used for the purchase and your password are used to access your application form. For Ghanaian Applicants, you are required to purchase vouchers online or verify vouchers purchased from approved outlets. For international applicants, you are required to purchase vouchers online and proceed; no need to verify the vouchers.
Hint: Voucher for Undergraduates is two hundred and fifty Ghana Cedis, Postgraduates Voucher is three hundred and fifty Ghana Cedis, and for Diploma, voucher is one hundred and eighty Ghana Cedis.
What Is Next After Registering and Buying a Voucher?
After going through the right processes to acquire your voucher, you are given an applicant ID as well as access to the Application Form, where you can start filling out the form. Below, I am going to share with you in detail all the required information needed when filling out the form.
1. The Personal Information Data Entry Step.
Note that all fields marked * mean that the particular field is required, and you will not be able to proceed to the next step unless you provide the information. Here are the things you have to do on the personal information page.
- Upload a passport picture of yourself, which should be (470 × 470) px, and should have a light green background.
- Enter your title (Miss, Mr, or Mrs), and select which gender you are, whether you are a male or a female.
- Enter your first name in the field provided, your middle name, and your last name. Very important: It is compulsory to add first and last name, but the middle name is optional.
- Choose marital status from the options provided (Married, Separated, Divorced, and Single), choose the country you are a citizen of, and your religion (Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Catholic, etc).
- Enter your phone number, your email, and your residential digital address. As a Ghanaian Applicant, you are to enter the (GhanaPost GPS) Address.
- Enter present occupation, place of work, and select yes or no under the "Are you still bonded with your employer?" question. Leave the place of work field empty if you wrote occupation as a student, or leave both fields blank and choose "No" for the question "Are you still bonded with your employer?"
- Lastly, you are to enter your postal address and residential address and choose "Yes" or "No" under "Are you Physically Challenged?
- Click on Go to Parent/ Guardian information for the next step.
2. Parent Guardian Information.
Under the parent guardian information, you are expected to:
- Select the title of your parent or guardian (Mr or Mrs).
- Enter first name and other names (other names can have both last name and middle name or only last name.
- Select relation to applicant (Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Uncle, etc). Just choose one.
- Enter Parent/ Guardian information.
- Enter Parent/ Guardian country of residence, phone number, email address, postal address, and residential digital address.
- Click on Go to Educational Background to continue
3. Educational Background
- Under the educational background information, you have to:
- Choose the region where you attended your SHS. Choose from the list of regions provided where your SHS is located.
- When you get the above right, navigate to the institution name and choose from the list provided the name of the SHS you attended.
- Enter the name of the programme you pursued. (Business, General Science, General Arts, Home Economics, etc).
- Go to Duration of Study and under start month and start year, choose the month you started SHS and the year you started. Under End of Month and End of Year, choose the month you ended SHS and the year you ended SHS, respectively.
- Click on Go to Exams Results and Continue
4. Exams Results
- Choose the list of examination types in the list provided when you click on the dropdown menu in the field provided.
- Choose sitting (WASSCE or Nov/Dec)
- Enter examination year
- Enter the index number without making any errors or mistakes because it will affect you massively.
- Select and add subjects you did in SHS. English, Math, Science and Social, and choose your electives also.
- Click Go to Supporting Document to save and continue to the next page.
Please note: Under grade, which you must type for each subject, choose awaiting if your results have not been released yet. But if you have your WASSCE result, enter the grades you scored for each subject.
5. Supporting Document.
In this session, you are required to upload some important documents. Most important and required in the Birth Certificate. Other documents like the Ghana Card, Transcript, and Academic Certificates are optional, but upload them if you can get them to increase your chances of admission. Take note that all documents must be uploaded in PDF format.
6. Programme Choice
Under programme choice, you are given the chance to select four programmes you prefer to offer in KNUST in the order you prefer them. From the 1st choice to the 4th choice in the priority of programmes you prefer to offer. Under Stream Choice, select regular for all programmes. Check the "Yes" box if you want to be considered as a fee-paying student, in case you do not meet the competitive cut-off aggregate. Leave it at "No" if you do not want to. Also, you can check "Yes" if you want to be considered as a Parallel (Part-time) student. If you don't want to, leave it at "No".
7. Review
Click on the "Review" to see if all the details you entered were right. Check to make sure you have not made any mistakes in your name and date of birth. When done, finally click on submit to submit your application form and wait for the good news.
